Study of the physiology of mushrooms and their production of enzymes.

In order to attain the 3 principal objectives of the SOPHIED project, it is necessary to study the fermentation technologies and the microbic physiology using a molecular and genetic biology approach.

The objective being to allow the SOPHIED partners to obtain the conditions and production methods for stable and effective enzymes, from the selected mushrooms, for the rest of the project.

The production and purification of enzymes was optimised at the flask scale (2 then 5 litres) then up to volumes of 150 litres in fermenters at an industrial partner, Wetlands Engineering, a Belgian biotechnology SME.
